CBRE has named a new head of its UK equity placement team.
James O’Neill will now lead the business, which sits in CBRE’s Capital Advisors division. O’Neill joined the team in March 2019 from Legal & General Investment Management Real Assets.
He steps up to take the top role from Mark Evans, who moved to Royal London Asset Management as its head of property earlier in November.
O’Neill said: “The volume of global capital looking to deploy into real estate equity and debt strategies and diversify globally remains high, despite the current market uncertainty.”
O’Neill was head of the client capital group at LGIM Real Assets for five years. Before that he spent seven years at the Grosvenor Estate, where he was director of capital markets, and earlier in his career worked at PwC.
