Charity and social: Sleep-out raises £64K for Centrepoint

More than 100 individuals from the property industry took part in a charity sleep-out organised by Propertymark, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20, as part of Centrepoint’s Sleep Out event. The team of agents and supporters raised more than £64,000 for the charity, which supports 15,000 homeless young people each year.

Lauren Scott, president of NAEA Propertymark, who took part in the sleep-out, said: “It’s overwhelming to have this many people from our industry come together on a freezing cold night in November. The money raised will provide vital safety and security to vulnerable young people in our country.”


Hamptons employees pass the baton for Cancer Research UK

Hamptons International has completed a relay around the regions challenge, raising more than £10,000 for Cancer Research UK. The company-wide event involved all 90 of its offices across the south of England. Staff passed the baton from branch to branch by all modes of mobility, from running, rowing and cycling to classic car driving over the course of five weeks.


Countryside signs up to Army pledge

Countryside has signed the Armed Forces Covenant pledging to double the number of Armed Forces employees in the next five years. The covenant, a mutual obligation between the nation and the Armed Forces, was signed by the homebuilder and the Royal Engineers at Brompton Barracks in Chatham on Armistice Day.


Anniversary prompts 20 good deeds

Home mover Reallymoving is celebrating 20 years in the business. To mark the occasion, staff are undertaking 20 good deeds throughout the milestone year. Activities have included Tough Mudder challenges, tree planting and clothes collections for refugees in Calais. Staff have also supported local community initiatives and raised funds for national and local charities.


Healey & Baker celebrates 200 years

Healey & Baker’s former senior partner Paul Orchard-Lisle is organising a bicentennial celebration for the firm that was founded in 1820. The event will be held on 23 April 2020 at the RAC club in Pall Mall, SW1Y, and an EG publication documenting the firm’s 200-year history will be distributed to guests on the night.

LandAid’s pop-up Christmas special

LandAid, the property industry charity, is to open a pop-up Christmas ice-skating rink at Airport City Manchester on Friday 13 December to raise money for young homeless people. Sign up for an ice-skating session and enjoy foods from local street traders serving seasonal treats.
