National housebuilder CALA Homes has launched its Construction Academy of Excellence to support build quality and standards in site management.
CALA has partnered with training providers National House Building Council, Keystone Training and the Chartered Institute of Building, to create the training programme with a structured career path and formal qualification for site management staff across the UK.

Co-op lends a hand to children’s charity
The Co-op has donated £125,000 to children’s charity Rays of Sunshine, which grants wishes to seriously ill children and provides support within hospitals. The money was raised by the Co-op’s property team at a charity awards evening.
A welcome boost for food bank
Estate agent Chestertons is supporting the Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank by turning its three offices in Fulham, SW6, into collection points for non-perishable food donations.
Chestertons is also undertaking the advertising for the charity, encouraging the local community to make emergency food donations for residents reliant on food parcels.
Fostering a career for young people
The annual Oxford Brookes Real Estate Management Society dinner has raised £10,000 for its partnership programme. The new programme will support bursaries and charitable initiatives to help young people gain access to a career in real estate.
Join the LandAid SleepOut Series
Be one of more than 1,000 property professionals to spend a night sleeping out and help raise more than £400,000 to end youth homelessness. The LandAid SleepOut Series, sponsored by Hammerson and Knight Frank, will take place in Birmingham, Bristol and London in February 2020.

Redrow team reaches Peak
A team from Redrow Homes East Midlands took part in the 52km Peak District Challenge for the Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough. The housebuilder’s mascots presented staff at the children’s hospital with a cheque for £4,563.
