Charity and social: Four in oardacious ocean race

On 12 December Savills’ Alex Soskin will embark on the 3,000-mile Talisker Whisky Atlantic challenge to raise money for mental health charities, Mind and the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation.

As part of the Oardacity crew, he will be rowing with fellow crew members Harry Hearn, Ed Batchelor and Tom Phillips, from Brown & Co.

The four-man team will race 25 other boats across the Atlantic Ocean from La Gomera in the Canaries to the Caribbean island of Antigua, in the world’s toughest rowing race. To donate, go to:

One helluva run for charity

Building positive change

Building People is crowdfunding to make the built environment more inclusive, with a platform that enables employers to widen their talent pools by connecting diverse talent to vacancies, information, activities and resources. Help on civvy street

Housebuilder Gleeson Homes is partnering with Forces Property Direct to help British military personnel get onto the property ladder. The Forces Help to Buy scheme, which is free to military personnel, provides funding for a 5% deposit, which can be added to the 20% offered through the government Help to Buy Scheme so that the required mortgage amounts to 75%.
