Charity and social: Homeless charity puts £10k donation under one roof

Highwood Group has donated £10,000 to Trinity Winchester, a charity that supports homeless and vulnerable people in the region.

The donation will help towards the charity’s Under One Roof project, which is building 11 high-quality flatlets to provide safe and secure homes for those in need.

The new self-contained homes will be housed in an eco-friendly development behind Trinity’s existing day centre on the edge of the Winnall Moors Nature Reserve. Residents will be supported by the charity’s trained project workers and in-house healthcare specialists, and will have access to a range of activities, therapies, education and treatments.

The Trinity Centre was founded in 1986 as a drop-in centre to provide advice and support to socially deprived people in Winchester.

Homebuilders add shine to Christmas

Lovell Homes and Latimer Homes, the development arm of Clarion Housing Group, added some extra sparkle to the Weston Christmas Light Display in December by donating £500 to the event. The annual illumination near Crewe raises funds for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice, which provides care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

A beacon in difficult times

PD Ports donated £50,000 to charitable causes and initiatives across the UK last year. In December, the port operator made £40,000 worth of donations to both local and national causes, building on the £10,000 already donated by the company at the height of the pandemic last March.
