Developer Regal London has launched a pop-up training academy in partnership with Building Heroes, a charity which helps military veterans find employment in the construction industry.
The Regal Real Estate Academy will provide on-site certified training, with the first pop-up programme expected at its Orchard Wharf and Wembley regeneration sites this autumn.
Regal London will initially provide 72 positions – with three cohorts of 12 military veterans alongside three cohorts of 12 people from local communities. Each programme will run for five weeks and will offer a level-one diploma in construction skills, a health and safety award and a Construction Skills Certification Scheme card.
The scheme is part of the company’s new sustainability strategy and will be expanded across multiple Regal London sites.
Jonathan Seal, chief executive of Regal London, said: “We are hugely excited to be the first developer to launch such a training programme and are thrilled to be partnering with Building Heroes, an organisation that has already achieved so much in helping people access employment opportunities in our industry.”
