Sketches by HTA Design’s Sandy Morrison were auctioned this week as the Club Peloton Cycle to MIPIM riders dug even deeper to push the fundraising for the 1,500km cycle from London to Cannes to more than £480,000.
The annual event, which has been sponsored by Legal & General Investment Management Real Assets for the past four years, raises money for a host of charities, including principal beneficiary Coram.
More than 150 cyclists – both seasoned and novice – take part in the ride, battling headwinds and long days in the saddle to raise money for those in need.
Young architects’ marathon marker for Lawrence charity
This year’s 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon remembered aspiring architect Stephen Lawrence at the route’s Isle of Dogs landmark, with a mile-18 marker installation to motivate runners at one of the toughest sections of the 26.2-mile course.
The structure was created by architecture graduates Ayanna Blair-Ford, Shreeya Radia and Quincy Haynes, who won a design competition organised by the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.
The design (below) celebrated the life of Lawrence, who was 18 when he was murdered in 1993, with quotes from young people describing the personal impact his legacy has had on them.
