Charity and social: Vertical Challenge at Chapter Spitalfields

A property team led by Greystar and Knight Frank was host to a Vertical Challenge at London’s Chapter Spitalfields building.

Nearly 60 sector professionals descended the tower’s 300ft facade from the 29th floor to raise funds for youth charity ReachOut UK and KIDS, a charity which supports disabled children.

The daring participants who took part were from Knight Frank, Greystar, Roundhill Capital, Watkin Jones, Finsbury, Fusion Students, GSA, CA Ventures, Homes for Students, Jones Day and Loft Interiors.


Everest climb part of bid for Grand Slam

Julian Evans, head of healthcare at Knight Frank, has successfully scaled Mount Everest, and raised more than £300,000 for his elected charity, the Matt Hampson Foundation, which provides advice, support and treatment to individuals who have suffered a serious injury or disability.

Evans’ achievement forms part of his pursuit of the True Adventurers Grand Slam, a challenge which requires the participants to reach the North Pole, the South Pole and all the Seven Summits (the highest mountains of each of the seven continents), while aiming to raise more than £1m for charity.


Property boxers hit £19,000 total for critically ill children

The fifth annual “Rumble with the Agents” white-collar charity boxing event has raised more than £19,000 for Make-A-Wish UK, which has enabled the charity to grant eight critically ill children their once-in-a-lifetime wish.

More than 300 property professionals attended the sell-out event in north-west London to watch the 10 amateur boxers, who had undertaking intensive training over the past few months, compete in the ring.

Money was raised on the night through donations, raffles and a live auction of sporting memorabilia, organised by Paul Shamplina, founder of Landlord Action.


Breslauer leads support for Veteran Games

Keith Breslauer, managing director of Patron Capital, had the honour of being one of the award presenters at the inaugural Veteran Games in Israel.

The five-day event for wounded armed forces veterans from the UK and Israel celebrated the vital roles that both sports and family play in physical and emotional rehabilitation, and brought together the two nations to learn from each other’s experience.

Patron Capital was a headline sponsor of the games, which were also supported by funding from the Patron Charitable Initiatives, the Pears Foundation, Rachel Charitable Trust, the Wolfson Family Charitable Trust, the Exilarch’s Foundation, the Maurice Wohl Charitable Foundation and the Charles Wolfson Charitable Trust.


Merchant Taylors to host Cricketers’ Cup

The annual Prideview Cricketers’ Cup will take place on 13 July at Merchant Taylors’ School, Northwood, London. Now in its eighth year, the property event fundraises for OneKindAct, a charity which supports people affected by poverty of health, nutrition and education. 


Pride 10k on the way

The annual Pride 10k race takes place on 10 August in Victoria Park in east London. Organised by volunteers from LGBT running club London Frontrunners, this year’s event will be raising funds for Micro Rainbow International, a charity which provides shelter and support to the LGBTI community.
