Hammerson raises the roof for the homeless
Hammerson rocked the house at the iconic Water Rats venue in King’s Cross last week, raising nearly £3,000 for Shelter From The Storm, a charity which provides beds for London’s homeless.
Retail property band, Brickwork, which includes Mark Bourgeois on the drums, played to 100 of Hammerson’s friends and family, knocking out a range of covers including Bowie, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, and Bob Dylan.
The band was joined on stage during the night by special guests, most notably Hammerson’s Rintu Alex on the guitar and Seb Silverman on the saxophone, plus CBRE’s Stewart Colderick on vocals.
Sheila Scott, chief executive of Shelter, said “We’re thrilled that Hammerson put on this fabulous event and are so grateful to everyone who attended and supported our shelter.”
