Door symbol underlines a safety story
Barratt London has partnered with students from Kingsley Academy to help transform the hoarding at its High Street Quarter scheme in Hounslow.
The housebuilder set up the project with Kingsley Academy, in conjunction with the Children Accident Prevention Trust and Considerate Constructor Scheme, to highlight the importance of safety in helping reduce the number of children and young people killed, disabled or seriously injured in accidents. As part of the course, the students were invited to suggest themes for the hoarding and they voted for “doors”, as a symbol of opportunity, welcome and growth.
Danny Fareden, project director, Barratt London, said: “It is great to get the opportunity to speak to young people about site safety but also pathways into construction, design and project management. The students were enthusiastic and receptive to what we had to say, and their selection of the ‘door’ theme was reflective of our conversations.
