Airport celebrates with a right royal knees-up
Airport City Manchester and holiday camp Butlins teamed up to give a special group of visitors to the UK a right royal welcome last week.
More than 40 people from Williams Syndrome associations around Europe arrived at Manchester Airport for their annual camp, which took place alongside the organisation’s national convention at Butlins in Skegness, coinciding with the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The group was invited to attend Airport City Manchester’s monthly platform event #FarFlungFriday, which this month was wedding themed.
The event brings visitors and airport employees together in a social setting.
Airport City Manchester provided a range of activities for their guests to participate in, one of which was to decorate a large cardboard airplane tail fin, of which a ceramicist replica will be created and sent to Buckingham Palace as a gift from the Federation of European Williams Syndrome associations to the royal couple.

On yer’ hike and bike
Taylor Wimpey has raised £167,575 for charity at its annual challenge event.
More than 360 staff made up the 65 teams that tackled a series of hiking and biking challenges at Snowdonia National Park in aid of the Youth Adventure Trust.
The charity uses outdoor adventures to inspire vulnerable young people.
As well as raising funds for YAT, each team was able to donate some of the proceeds they raised to a local charity of their choice.
