Charles Taylor picks the Minster Building for City HQ

UK insurance company Charles Taylor has signed for a new 66,000 sq ft London headquarters at the Minster Building, EC3.

The firm will consolidate its three London offices into the recently refurbished 275,000 sq ft building, which is owned by Ivanhoé Cambridge, Greycoat and FREO Group.

Charles Taylor will pay a rent of around £57.50 per sq ft and has taken a 20-year lease.

The firm, which is due to move to the new headquarters in June, will vacate its current offices at 1 Portsoken Street, E1, where it occupies around 61,000 sq ft; 88 Leadenhall Street, EC2, where it rents around 16,000 sq ft; and 12-13 Essex Street, WC2, where it occupies 24,000 sq ft.

Ivanhoé Cambridge, Greycoat and FREO Group acquired the Minster Building at 3 Minster Court for £170m in 2015.

GN2 advised Charles Taylor; GM Real Estate and Cushman & Wakefield are leasing agents on The Minster Building.
