Chateau Louis XIV has become the world’s most expensive residential property after being sold for a reported €275m to an unnamed Middle Eastern buyer.
The property is located between Versailles and Marly-le-Roi, close to Paris, and includes an aquarium, private cinema and two ballrooms.
The property was completed in 2011, with Saudi developer Emad Khashoggi employing 200 people to carry out the work.
