A mixed-use scheme to redevelop a site at Chatham’s historic wharf has received planning permission.
The John Lyall Architects-designed plans will bring public activity and historic lanes down to the waterfront itself, and create a “sense of place” along the line of the wharf.
The site, owned and developed by Medway council and A2 Dominion Housing as well as the Watts Charity, will accommodate new apartments – including social housing, hotel, leisure and business activities.
The scheme is the first phase in the Chatham Waterfront regeneration plan, which will provide a street layout and enhanced public space.
