Chelsea stadium redevelopment put on hold

Chelsea Football Club has put its plans to redevelop its West London stadium, Stamford Bridge, SW6, on hold.

The club said in a statement it was halting work on the scheme due to “the current unfavourable investment climate”.

Designed by Herzog & De Meuron, the redevelopment would have increased Stamford Bridge’s capacity from 41,837 to 60,000 and included new amenities for fans.
