Chelsfield checks out of Westbury Hotel for £65m

Chelsfield, the property company headed by Elliot Bernerd, is this week expected to announce that it has sold the Westbury Hotel in London¹s West End for more than £65m.

Property agents believe the company has done a deal to sell the hotel, on the corner of New Bond Street and Conduit Street, to a privately-owned hotel group whose best known outlet is Harrington Hall in London.

At the same time, Bernerd has extracted the Bond Street frontage from the hotel with the intention of developing it into a luxury goods store.

It is believed that Great Universal Stores will let the space for a flagship outlet for its Burberry chain.
