Chesterton appoints Bartlett as chief executive

Chesterton has appointed the former Cluttons boss Robert Bartlett as its new chief executive.

Bartlett who was chief executive of Cluttons’ residential division was involved in the launch of its financial services mortgage broking business and the expansion of overseas offices across Europe.

The management team set in place last year by shareholders Consensus, CIC and the Mercantile Group has achieved 35% over profit targets to date and the firm is expected to end the year 60% over budgeted profit.

In a statement, the shareholders and the board of directors said that they see the appointment of a new chief executive officer as a major step forward in re-establishing the wider services of Chesterton and revitalising the heritage of the Chesterton brand.

“This appointment is key to continuing the expansion of the residential and international businesses and developing a more broadly based property business” said a Chesterton spokesman.

Bartlett said: “The superb management team put in place last year has established a solid base for our rapid expansion.”
