Chesterton denies reports of Birmingham agency sale

Chesterton has strongly denied press reports that it is looking to sell its Birmingham agency to Knight Frank.

Gavin Black, managing director of Chesterton’s commercial division, said: “We categorically deny that we are selling our agency business in Birmingham to Knight Frank.”

He added that the company is committed to its agency business and is actively looking to recruit new staff in Birmingham.

Both KF and Drivers Jonas are looking to expand regional coverage with new offices in Birmingham. KF currently has an active requirement for up to 464 sq m (5,000 sq ft) of offices in the city centre which is thought to be for its new operation.

Howard Woollaston, head of regional agency at Knight Frank, who is handling KF’s expansion into Birmingham, was unavailable for comment.
