Chesterton has beaten Richard Ellis and Grimley in the competition to market TSB’s headquarters in Birmingham.
The 14,030 sq m (151,000 sq ft) building, known as Victoria House, overlooks Victoria Square in the city centre. It has become surplus to TSB’s needs following the bank’s merger with Lloyds last year.
Chesterton’s associate investment director Jeff Moss said a quoting rent has not yet been decided, but he confirmed that prime office space in the city fetches about £215.28 per sq m (£20 per sq ft).
“It’s a very high quality building offering everything you could hope for in a headquarters – including a 200-seat restaurant, a gym and a creche,” said Moss.
TSB owns the building freehold and will either lease it or sell it. The bank would prefer a single buyer or occupier.
