Tex mex group Chimichanga will open its first restaurant in Glasgow as part of the £20m leisure extension of Silverburn in Glasgow.

The 3,100 sq ft restaurant will open December on a 15-year lease with Hammerson. It is the brand’s second restaurant in Scotland.

Anchored by the 50,000 sq ft 14-screen Cineworld cinema, it will also feature redesigned local shops and public realm. The first restaurants open this autumn.

Peter Morrison, operations manager at Chimichanga, said: “Silverburn is the perfect location from which to open its second Chimichanga location in Scotland. It is a well-established destination that has captured the imagination of consumers in the region, and the leisure extension can only add to the centre’s success.
