As China’s president Xi Jinping makes a high-profile four-day state visit to the UK this week, Chinese developers and investors make the top 10 in Estates Gazette’s 2015 Rich List.
The Rich List, now in its 13th year, sees the three Chinese entries with a combined wealth of almost £40bn. The total for the top 10, which features people from all over the globe, is just over £119bn.
Three of the top 10 entrants are from Europe. North and south America are also featured as is South East Asia. Overall the list contains 250 names.
Of the 250, the UK has 109 entrants, with Spain, China, Hong Kong and Switzerland making up the rest of the top five by country/region. Ireland, with its population of just 6m, comes in 12th with 16 names.
