Beijing-based electronics company Xiaomi has shut its only UK store, after just over a year of trading.
The brand had launched the 2,000 sq ft flagship, at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s shopping centre in White City, to much fanfare in November 2018.
However, it has been removed from Westfield London’s store directory. The shop’s social media account has also been deleted.
A spokesperson for Xiaomi told news blog Android Authority: “This adjustment to our local retail strategy is a reaction to our fast-growing business in Western Europe.
“Since our official arrival in the UK over one year ago, we have loved building relationships with our users, Mi Fans and partners and thank them all for their support.”
The company will continue to trade in the UK through its website.
