The Diocese of London and the Parish of St John have put a 1.2-acre Hackney site with the potential for a £45m residential development up for sale.
St John’s Gardens, Hackney, E8, has planning permission for 58 private and affordable homes, communal gardens and 12,000 sq ft of community facilities, including a scout hut.
Knight Frank has been instructed to sell the site, which is in the Clapton Square Conservation area. DLA Design devised the scheme.
The development will contribute to the £4m restoration of St John’s Church and is part of a project to secure and expand the church’s local activities.
