Queensberry Real Estate has signed Cineworld as the leisure anchor for its £100m Friars Walk scheme in Newport, Wales.
The cinema chain has agreed a 25-year lease for an eight-screen, 26,000 sq ft multiplex.
New plans for the scheme, which stalled in 2009 when then owner Modus collapsed into administration, were approved this March. They include 35 shops, a 93,000 sq ft Debenhams store, 10 restaurants and a 360-space car park.
Construction will begin next year with completion in 2015.
DTZ is letting agent on Friars Walk; Wareing & Partners acted for Cineworld.
