Cineworld to open six cinemas

Cineworld-THUMB.jpegCineworld is set to deliver six new UK cinemas in the second half of the year, according to a trading update from the company.

The planned cinemas total 47 screens, of which five will be Picturehouse screens.

Cineworld has posted a box office revenue rise of 10.9% over the 26 weeks to 2 July 2015, with admissions growth in all its world markets except Slovakia.

During the first half of the year the company opened three cinemas in Swindon, Broughton and Silverburn, totalling 31 screens, and one Picturehouse in East Dulwich, London, with three screens.
