Bruntwood and Select Property Group have received planning consent for the largest phase of their proposed transformation of the BBC Oxford Road site in Manchester.
Circle Square’s phase 1b comprises 305,630 sq ft of offices, 677 flats, 105,000 sq ft of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. It also includes a 1,000-space multi-storey car park and public realm.
Phase 1A of the 2.3m sq ft scheme was approved in January and is due to be completed in September 2017. Construction of Phase 1B is due to start in early 2017.
Bruntwood CEO Chris Oglesby said: “Our vision was to design a city centre space that will be enjoyed by a rich and diverse set of people and businesses, and we are hugely excited to see how this enhances the innovation district that is Corridor Manchester, as well as the city as a whole.
