Ciref confirms name change to Redefine

South African investor and developer Ciref, best known in the UK for its tie-up with the collapsed Modus, has confirmed it has changed its name to Redefine International Plc.

Ciref’s investment manager Corovest will also be renamed as Redefine.

In November of last year, Ciref announced a restructuring and equity raising to take control of five UK shopping centre schemes it had been working on with failed Manchester developer Modus.

Ciref also has stakes in two listed property companies including a 21% share in Wichford, listed on the London Stock Exchange, and 13% stake in the Cromwell Group, a property fund listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. These will not be affected by the rebranding.

In May the group posted a £4.1m pretax loss for the half year to 28 February compared with a £33m loss at the same time last year.
