The City of London Corporation today approved two major office schemes.
The corporation’s planning committee gave consent to British Land’s and GIC’s refurbishment and extension of 100 Liverpool Street, EC2.
The scheme will see 135,000 sq ft added to the building over three floors, bringing its total area to 515,000 sq ft.
The Hopkins Architects-designed scheme includes a new restaurant with external terracing on the ninth floor of the building.
It also envisages improved connections and public space between the building and Liverpool Street Station and Broadgate Circle.
The building is due to be vacated by UBS next year when the bank takes occupation of 5 Broadgate, EC2.
The City’s planning committee also today approved plans for a new five-storey office block to be built above Farringdon Crossrail station on land bounded by Charterhouse Street, Lindsey Street, Long Lane And Hayne Street, EC1.
The office scheme will include more than 115,000 sq ft of gross area above Farringdon East Station.
