WeWork is in advanced talks to take all the office space at the City’s One Poultry, EC2.
The Grade-II listed building next to the Bank of England is being repositioned as a “design-led HQ creative office” by Aermont Capital and will provide 110,000 sq ft of “inspirational” offices.
The deal will bring WeWork’s total London take-up for 2017 to 957,144 sq ft – 11.1% of all London leasing deals this year – according to EG Data.
Jacob Loftus’s General Projects is development manager for One Poultry, which is being repositioned to deliver gallery-style spaces and ceiling heights of up to 3.8m.
Designed by Sir James Stirling, the building is also home to the D&D London-operated Coq D’Argent restaurant on the top floor. Some 25,000 sq ft of new independent retail and leisure activities will be added at ground level and a new 4,000 sq ft reception will feature bespoke artwork. An underground complex will offer cycle parking, a cycle repair shop and shower facilities.
The redesign of One Poultry is due to complete in December 2017. GM Real Estate is the leasing agent. Nash Bond and Bruce Gillingham Pollard are the retail and leisure agents. BuckleyGrayYeoman is the architect.
