The highest density of businesses per population is in the City of London, research by Mapmechanics shows.
The capital accounts for 15 of the top 20 places with the highest density of businesses, and the majority of the top 100 places are in London and the south.
The creation of a Northern Powerhouse has some way to go, with only 17 of the top 100 spots in Manchester or further north. However, Warrington only just missed out on a top 10 place.
