Citygrove moves ahead in Plymouth leisure race

First Leisure is in talks with Citygrove to take a nightclub of between 1,672 and 2,322 sq m (18,000 and 25,000 sq ft) at the Coxside leisure development in Plymouth.

If the deal goes through, Citygrove Leisure will have fully let its scheme – which has yet to win planning consent – putting pressure on a rival development by Marylebone Warwick Balfour and ASM at Millbay Leisure Park, close to the city centre.

A spokesperson for MWB said Millbay would still go ahead before the end of the year in spite of having only one occupier, UCI, signed up: “We’re very committed to our scheme. We’ve got very strong occupier interest.” The scheme already has planning permission.

Warner Village is anchoring Citygrove, and Bass is also signing up at the scheme.

Knight Frank is acting for MWB and ASM.
