Clarion nabs strategy boss from Bouwinvest

Clarion Partners Europe has appointed Jasper Petit to the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

Petit brings nearly 20 years of pan-European real estate experience, with the last 10 spent at Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors, a longstanding investment partner of Clarion.

He held a number of senior roles at Bouwinvest, most recently as director of European investments where he grew the European commercial real estate platform assets under management to €1.9bn (£1.5bn) from €1.1bn across the logistics, residential, data centre and hospitality sectors. This included both listed and non-listed real estate investments.

In his new role, Petit will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the real estate investment fund manager across both new and existing product and business lines. He will be based at Clarion’s newly-opened Amsterdam office, which is the firm’s fifth in Europe alongside London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid.

Alistair Calvert, chief executive of Clarion, said: “Jasper’s track record growing the European platform at one of our long-standing investment partners gives him a unique perspective as we continue evolving the business.

“His through-the-cycle experience and deep understanding of the European logistics and residential sectors in particular, including current drivers of occupational and investor sentiment, will be a huge asset as we move into the second half of the decade.”
