Housing association Clarion has submitted detailed planning applications to Merton Council for 284 homes in the next phase at High Path in South Wimbledon and Eastfields in Mitcham, south London.
The plans comprise 191 social rented homes and 93 private sale homes, with 1,700 sq ft of commercial space.
The development forms part of Clarion’s £1bn regeneration of Merton that will see 2,800 new homes across three neighbourhoods. This includes 740 social rented homes and 97,000 sq ft of commercial and community space.
Work is currently under way to build the 155 first homes at Ravensbury and High Path, which have been earmarked for existing residents.
Paul Quinn, director of Merton regeneration at Clarion, said: “Our regeneration proposals put residents first and provide better community and green spaces and links to local areas.
“The project will also contribute to the prosperity, health and wellbeing of the local community through job creation and opportunities for local businesses.”
