Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson has agreed to launch its 12th store in the UK, opening on Northumberland Street in Newcastle.
Clas Ohlson has signed a lease on a 22,000 sq ft shop at basement level. It is due to open in August.
The launch follows openings in Norwich, Merry Hill and Doncaster at the end of 2010.
Robert Darwen from Jones Lang LaSalle’s retailer services team, which advised Clas Ohlson, said: “This is a fantastic location in Newcastle city centre, and it will be an excellent addition to the ever-expanding UK portfolio. The target is to push for similar locations to this in other major cities and towns in the UK.”
