Peter Clegg, who the Qatari developer of Chelsea Barracks has shortlisted as architect for the project, only agreed to be considered after he received the permission of Lord Rogers of Riverside, the scheme’s previous designer.
Clegg said he personally contacted Lord Rogers and spoke to someone who relayed back information that they would not object to Clegg putting his name forward for the south-west London scheme.
Lord Rogers was originally involved in the Chelsea Barracks project before falling out with the Prince of Wales over his plans for the site.
