Climate crisis to guide BlackRock investments

BlackRock will only invest in companies that can prove the best climate-change credentials.

In his latest finger-wagging letter to CEOs, Larry Fink has told companies to put sustainability and climate change at the forefront.

The BlackRock boss’s annual letter, a feature of the corporate calendar, was released alongside an open letter to the $7trn investor’s clients, stating that it would increase the number of sustainable funds it offers, and remove some coal companies from it’s active funds.
