Retail rents in Northern Ireland have reached a new landmark level. Local agent Lisney reports a letting at Bloomfield Shopping Centre in Bangor, County Down, at over £1000 per sq m (£92 per sq ft) Zone A.
In its first move into the Northern Ireland market, Clinton Cards has taken a unit of around 130 sq m (1,400 sq ft) in the 15,800 sq m (170,000 sq ft) centre which is owned by Pillarcaise and anchored by Marks & Spencer and Tesco.
“Bloomfield is an out-of-town shopping centre and a good example of what we believe will be happening around Northern Ireland in coming months,” said David McNellis, agency director at Lisney in Belfast. Other new tenants in Bloomfield include Monsoon and Game.
He added: “Demand for prime retail property in Northern Ireland continues to outstrip supply which has resulted in unprecedented rental growths in parts of Northern Ireland.”
Lisney is letting agent on Bloomfield.
