Clinton Cards is continuing to examine its store portfolio despite improved trading.
Like-for-like sales rose by 0.8% in the five weeks to 1 January, compared with a 2.6% fall in the previous four months.
The group, which operates 630 Clintons and 141 Birthdays UK stores, said in a trading statement today that was continuing to examine its store portfolio, and aimed to announce changes in Q2.
Darcy Willson-Rymer, chief executive officer, said: “There is clearly more work to be done and I am looking at this within my strategic review. Despite a tough retail climate, we remain in line with the board’s expectations.”
