Solid demand for secondary commercial investments and residential properties pushed revenue to a total of £15.4m at a five-day series of sales held by Clive Emson last week.
The sales, held in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Cornwall and Avon, produced an overall success rate of 70% after 123 of 174 lots sold. Post sales boosted the success rate to 75% and the revenue to £16.5m.
Notable successes included a detached home and three one-bedroom almshouses in Deal, Kent. These were offered on behalf of the trustees with a guide price of between £220,000 and £240,000 and sold for £246,000.
A detached town centre property in Hastings, arranged to provide two self-contained shops, one let at £8,000 pa on a three-year lease from September 2006 and the other vacant, sold for £260,000 off a guide price of £18,000-£220,000.
Auctioneer Kevin Gilbert said: “There is demand for all types of land and property, with residential particularly sought after. However, quality and high-yielding commercial lots also proved popular.”
