Cole Waterhouse hires resi MD

Manchester-based developer Cole Waterhouse has recruited Simon Gallanders to head its new residential division.

The developer has brought in Gallanders as managing director of Cole Waterhouse Residential as part of a business restructure which has created two divisions focused on residential and commercial.

Gallanders has worked in real estate for 16 years. He was a director at luxury developer Real Estate Investment Partnerships for 12 years.

Cole Waterhouse was established in 2015. It has a number of residential schemes, including BTR and student accommodation, in London and the regions. This includes a £260m residential scheme and skypark in Digbeth, Birmingham and its Anchorage Gateway development in Salford, where it has been seeking £68m for BTR.

The new structure will see both businesses sit under chief executive Damian Flood, executive director Greg Ritchie and chief operating officer Rod Priestley.

Flood said: “The past two years have seen us rapidly expand the business across multiple UK cities but with a very clear focus on residential and industrial development.

“We now have schemes coming forward in London, Manchester, Salford, Leeds and Birmingham and the restructure of the business and Simon’s appointment to lead the residential arm strengthens our management team even further.”
