Colliers appoints regeneration duo

The Birmingham office of Colliers International has appointed two consultants to boost its regeneration and public sector offer.

Regeneration experts Will Evans (pictured right with David Smeeton of Colliers) and Steve Compton (pictured left) have been appointed to identify suitable opportunities and help cash-strapped local authorities get them off the ground.

Evans, formerly development director at the now defunct Walsall Regeneration Company, and latterly at Wolverhampton Development Company, was responsible for promoting the economic growth of the Black Country towns, and delivering public/private partnership developments including Wolverhampton’s City Canalside, Gigaport in Walsall and the Walsall Waterfront.

Evans is also chairman of the Birmingham Forum for the Built Environment.

Compton joins Colliers after spending four years at urban regeneration company Opportunity Peterborough, latterly as chief executive. A qualified surveyor, he has worked at Leicester Regeneration and Advantage West Midlands. The duo also worked together at British Waterways.
