Colliers hires Hawkins from WHR

Mike Hawkins, WHR partner and one of the North West’s best-known agents, has resigned from the business to join Colliers International.

He will join Colliers International in 2014 as a partner in the national offices team, based in Manchester.

Hawkins has acted on many of the city’s top deals, including the £800m NOMA deal between the Co-op and Hermes Real Estate.

Tony Horrell, Colliers International chief executive, UK and Ireland, said: “This strategic hire is instrumental in the continuing growth plans for our national offices team in the UK, and in particular in Manchester.”

He added: “Mike has dominated the Manchester city centre office leasing, development and investment market during the last 10 years with an enviable client list and unprecedented market share, and we have every confidence that he will help us to build our business in Manchester very quickly.”

WHR said: “Over the last 10 years, the partners of WHR have built up a strong business, having been involved in many of the most influential and high-profile deals in the North West. WHR continues to retain a large share of the office market and is focused on providing the same high level of service to clients.”
