Net stock absorption of office space in Manchester increased in the first half of 2011, according to new figures released by Colliers International.
Net absorption of Manchester’s office space was 147,000 sq ft in the first half of the year, from a total take-up of just over 300,000 sq ft.
It means that 83.1% of office space in Manchester’s central business district is now occupied, the highest level of occupation for two years.
Rupert Barron, director with the Manchester office of Colliers International, said: “Manchester still has grade A office stock available but a flurry of recent activity in the market means that stock is being occupied and with so few cranes on the skyline, fresh space to satisfy future demand is not being constructed.”
