Colliers’ Smeeton joins C&W

Cushman-and-wakefield-whiteDavid Smeeton, the head of Colliers International’s Birmingham office, is leaving the firm to join Cushman & Wakefield.

The well-known property agent resigned from his post at Colliers before Christmas and is now currently on gardening leave. Smeeton had headed the firm’s Birmingham office since 2007 after joining in the late 1990s.

Smeeton is believed to be joining Cushmans as head of investment, reporting to head of offices David Tonks. His start date is yet to be confirmed.

Cushman’s team has also been expanded through its merger with DTZ earlier this year.

Jon Webber has been promoted to acting head of Colliers International’s Birmingham office while the firm seeks a permanent replacement for Smeeton.

A spokesperson at Colliers International said: “Unfortunately David has decided to leave. We wish him well and he parts on good terms.”

Cushman & Wakefield declined to comment.
