Commuters lured back to London

WEEKEND PAPERS: Rising train fares and transport issues are persuading commuters to buy in London.

Around 11% of homes sold in the capital last year were bought by people looking to escape the commute, according to research by Hamptons International for The Times.

The research found that one in 10 people who move from London to the commuter belt return within three years. Nevertheless, the number moving in the opposite direction remains strong, with more than 51,000 Londoners buying in the commuter belt over the past year.
