Competition watchdog to relocate HQ to Canary Wharf

The Competition and Markets Authority has secured new headquarters in London’s Canary Wharf.

The UK competition watchdog has signed a 15-year lease for 112,000 sq ft of office space at Hines’ The Cabot. Quoting rents for the area are above £45 per sq ft.

The non-ministerial government department’s lease agreement covers part of the ground floor and floors seven, eight and nine of the building, which is currently undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment.

The CMA’s current headquarters are in Holborn at Victoria House, 37 Southampton Row.

GVA acted for the Competition and Markets Authority; Hines was advised by Knight Frank, CBRE and Squarebrook.
