Competitive bidding back at Network Auctions’ November sale

There was competitive bidding at Network Auctions’ 3 November sale, which raised £2.1m after 72% of the catalogue sold.

A total of 15 out of 21 lots exchanged hands, including three prior to the event, which was held at the National Auction Room in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Auction director Toby Limbrick said: “It was our best room since the election. Our average property price was £172,000, just a fraction down from the £179,000 we were achieving this time last year.”

The opening lot of the day was the most hotly contested. With a guide of £2,000-£3,000, the shed/garage in Ilford, Essex, made £19,000.

The largest lot was The Old Police Station in Royston, Hertfordshire. Complete with cells and a magistrates’ court, it sold prior for £350,000 off a guide of £325,000.
