Completely Retail: Brands in the UK will come from the West

AUDIO: The majority of new brands coming into the UK will come from the West, not the East, according to Cushman & Wakefield.

Toby Comerford, partner, central London retail, said: “We are more likely to see brands coming out of the Middle East, Russia – very few from South America, but still lots from the US. There is still more to come – a vast array and I sense they are going to come from the West.”

Comerford says Oxford Street is still a prime location for foreign retailers, but increasingly they are looking at centres on the outskirts of London.

“We work with retailers from around the world and some conclude they should go to centres outside London to get a feel for the UK market before paying millions of pounds in central London,” he added.
