Comptoir Libanais, the Lebanese canteen and delicatessen, is to open at 1-5 Exhibition Road, SW7.
Comptoir Libanais, which offers a Middle Eastern menu with an emphasis on the use of healthy and organic ingredients, has agreed to let 1,800 sq ft from South Kensington Estates. The restaurant will be arranged over the ground floor and basement and will open in October.
Owner Tony Kitous launched Comptoir Libanais, meaning Lebanese counter, in 2009 at Westfield London and opened its first stand-alone restaurant on Wigmore Street the same year. The operator has also secured another site at Westfield Stratford City.
Kate Taylor at Davis Coffer Lyons, which advised South Kensington Estates, said: “This latest letting builds on an already impressive line-up of restaurants and cafés including Casa Brindisa and Le Pain Quotidien, strengthened as an eating and drinking destination by the recent public realm improvements at the south end of Exhibition Road, which have created a continental, piazza style environment for al fresco dining. As a result, the landlord received an enormous level of interest for this site but felt that the unique offering of Comptoir Libanais would be a fantastic compliment to the area.”
