Consent for residential scheme at Leicester factory site

Hasbro (UK) has secured outline planning permission for a residential development of around 100 houses on 4.05 ha (10 acres) at Owen Street, Coalville, Leicester – the former Palitoy factory.

The site falls within the Government’s recently designated National Forest area. It is recommended that 15% of the site area will therefore be given over to trees. The local authority is seeking a policy in its Local Plan to prescribe the level of tree planting for the forest. Fuller Peiser’s Simon Harding- Roots believes this move will prove controversial at the forthcoming public inquiry.

Fuller Peiser acted for Hasbro (UK).
